Default Audi care!

Hello,

I'm very new to this forum. A brief introduction; I'm currently nearing the end of my lease and have been looking at Audis and BMWs. My current car that I'm leasing is a 2013 535 M Sport fully loaded with BMW maintenance package of course. For my next lease, I am leaning a bit more towards Audi S5 or RS5. My only concern is what type of pre-paid maintenance packages does Audi has to offer? Will I have to purchase it separately or is it all inclusive like what BMW has to offer?

Audi Care is not generally included wit hthe car, unless you negotiate well. For the S5 it isn't all that expensive, around $920. It does raise the residual of the car by 1%. So, on a $60,000 car it ends up costing about $320. It amazes me that people actually pass on it.

Not sure about non-CPO cars, but on my CPO, the AudiCare came with it. As noted in previous thread, if it is an individual, find out if it has AudiCare and then call the local dealer.

Audi Care is an extra cost. You can buy it any time up until the 15k service. Some people manage to negotiate it for free, others negotiate a discount. But the only chance to negotiate is at the time you purchase the car. It covers scheduled maintenance only. It doesn't cover wear items like brakes, but as opposed to BMW it transfers to the next owner of the car.

Here's my Audi Care analysis:

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...lysis-2822453/

Note that the dealer profit margin for Audi Care is very small so true discounts are hard to come by. Those who say they got it "free" when purchasing the car presumably could have negotiated an equivalent discount from the car price without it since the dealer pays almost retail for Audi Care. No free rides here.

I went to your previous review and you advise that if you don't keep the car for more than 5 years, it is not worth it. Audi Care is good for the first 4 years, right ?

Audi Care covers the scheduled services every 10K miles for 15K, 25K, 35K and 45K miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Obviously, if you are not going to keep the car long enough to take advantage of the four covered maintenance intervals, it probably doesn't make sense financially to buy AC.

The first 5K/6 month scheduled service is covered at no charge so depending on how many miles you drive, it could be as long as about 4.5 years of ownership. If you drive more than 10K miles per year, the total AC covered time frame would be less.

Default Audi Care plans totally revamped as of yesterday

Here is what I just picked up today from my dealer : (see attached)

I was ready to go in for the 55k 65k 75k Audi Care Plus package and it is no more. Now you can get 55k&65k or 65k&75k or 75k&85k, price depends on your vehicle model.

Have a look and see what you think.

Interesting. Looks like the standard Audi Care for 15K-45K miles is still available but they have limited the Audi Care Plus to these options. I always felt the 55K-75K miles Audi Care Plus offering was too expensive to justify the investment and now it's even more so. And confusing given the choices shown here.

Here's a little follow up : brought the car in today for the 55k service. Before I told them that I had just bought Audi Care Select for the 55k and 65k, I was quoted that the cost for the 55k service would be $800. So, seeing as I just paid $799 for the 55k+65k select package, I would say Ive just managed to get my 65k service for no cost, so I would have to disagree that this is not worth it (of course, that is strictly for people like myself who have no time/interest/tools/ability with which to do the maintenance myself.)
