Default Here is Paul Rivera's response...

Just heard back from him...

"This was a car built in Oct of 2006 and was a pre production vehicle.
It was built to US Spec.
The first wave of S5's I do not think have Drive Select on them.

In fact, this car is a first for any US journalist to drive. It belongs to Audi AG.

The second wave of S5's may have it on it.
So Audi USA is probably being quite coy about the availability of drive select, not wanting the first vehicles to go unsold.

I would wait for the second wave of cars in late spring.

If you go to the Audi.com german site, you can see the options and drive select is on there.

Best of luck
Paul Rivera

Default No - (in addition to). I definitely don't think it would be standard for this model.

As an option, it would be very popular I would think. They could capitalize on that.

Default I went to the German site -- not on there.

Unless I missed it. Went through configuator, tech specs, etc. I think he's confused.

Default This is true... My neighbor had a CLS 55, then a couple months later... CLS 63

i've seen others go from CL 55, to SL 65... S500 to S550 SL 500 to SL 550.... mercedes seems to make lots of changes... larger changes than say, "lane change assist".. which is the only option i think i missed when ordering the first round of the S5.

Default CL and CLS are 2 differenct cars

The CL is a 2 door coupe , the CLS is 4 door coupe, whole know class of car, of which Audi is following suit seeing the success, it will be the A7.

I doubt the SL 55 and SL 55, were the same, I'm quite sure they were different models. As, the new SL's came out last year or year before. Perhaps, your neighbor upgraded. Same goes for the new S's.

The point is MB will come out with new models, but when they do, they don't have us going oh wait, if we wait another 6 months we can have, XYZ. Maybe after a couple of years, but that's fine, not 6 months. 6 months is just annoying.
