Does anyone have the technical info on the wattage of the HID ballast and the color temp of the HID bulb used on a 2009/2010 S5?

I'm so used to many vehicle using the 35watt ballast in their factory HID's, and I would possibly like to use a 55watt ballast in the S5.

If anyone has done this or has any experience, what steps are involved to swapping out the ballasts?

Sorry I don't have answer to your question, but what would replacing the ballast with a higher wattage one do? Would it actually make the bulb brighter? And if that's so and you're overdriving the bulb are there no safety or bulb failure concerns from that?

Yes the 55watt would make the light output brighter, about 30-40% brighter. If the current factory HID bulb is not rated to handle 55watts, then I'm assuming it would be very simple to swap it out with an HID bulb that is capable of handling 55watts.

I recently installed a 55watt 6000k HID kit on my step-Dad's BMW, and it blows other factory BMW HID's away.

factory HID bulb is a 55watt 4300k bulb in the US, and a 55w 5000k bulb in ROW
