I am in the Cayman Islands, I am not worried about the GPS and Navigation as the island is small but in my experience the Japanese radio stations are working at a different frequency or something compared to their us counterparts and therefore they do not pickup any of the stations. I am thinking about replacing the screen instead of the whole stereo because of what you said, I would like to keep all the controls built in with the factory system. I have found what I think is the right part number (8T0057603E) for the display screen, can anyone confirm?

Understood about the Nav part but by getting an updated firmware and map data update, all of the other parameters of the MMI will also fall into place like the correct frequency range for AM/FM, etc etc.

*EDIT*
You will need/use the North America firmware/Map update.

Does that mean I am able to do any change like correct the frequency range for AM/FM myself via the Audi MMI 2G 'Hidden green menu'?

Entirely possible via the Hidden Menu to change language and possibly frequency. But again, if your car's firmware is for the Asian market, you need to change it to North America. In doing so, you'll guarantee to have the correct frequency range and language as well as other updated items.

Tread carefully . I dumped $700 into my last car (A4) to fix the blown front door speakers and they used an aftermarket "upgraded" sub and door speakers. Problem was the sub drew more power than the stock amp could dish out and it made the whole setup sound starved and terrible. unless you're upgrading the amp too I'd stick with the speakers that came with the car
