Default Backup Camera 'chip'.... estimated delivery...

Anyone heard when the 'chips' will be in for the Backup cameras? Dealer told me a few months when I bought my car, now telling me sometime before the end of the year if we are lucky...

Just curious if good news has been heard by anyone else that they might come in sooner?

Really? Can you explain? Does this mean there will be too many electrical issues once this part is available and dealers install them?

when the part is available it will be a simple install. The nav unit wont have to be removed for this, but if you wanted to add it without having nav then your going to have to remove the nav system and thats never a good idea on a high tech car .

Any idea where the graphics chip actually goes?

No doubt multiple things, but as Audi claims in their info, that they have software (firmware/hardware) that compensates for the distortion by the camera as the view changes (I assume a wide angle lens) and makes the image seen on the screen appear more or less in a natural state, this is probably a major part of the missing chip.
