Now obviously I will never achieve the acceleration, top speed or gas mileage of a v8 S5 with my slow gas guzzling v6 S4. However, I have discovered a few helpful hints of my own:

Turn off radio or other music source - good for 5-6 mpg gain
Dim dash lights - another 4-5 mpg gained
reduce tire pressure - less weight equals aproximately 3 mpg for every 4 psi reduction
debadge car - another 3-4 mpg due to less weight and better aerodynamics

I'm going to test a few more but so far I'm averaging 48mpg while cruizing at 170mph.
Don't forget to drain the windshield washer fluid for additional weight savings

Excellent idea - should save an additional 6-8 mpg at 140 mph

Dude, you do know that as soon as you started to drive off, the range will drop accordingly, right ? Plus, you do know that the 400 miles to empty info showing in the center after fillup is meaningless because your car is sitting at idle, right ?

We all know that you are a 4.2 V8 fanboy but you seriously need to get a clue before you post.

Now the S5 V8 owners know they can save gas too and beat the S4.
You better believe it. Now show me your max fuel tank range, because mine goes up over 400 miles on a full tank.

when i went to PA this weekend with my '13 s5 and filled up afterwards, it showed 400. when i first picked up my car a few weeks ago it showed 400. but in between when commuting for work and driving locally, it's around 350-375. it's just an ESTIMATE for a reason lol

OMG.. you guys are amateurs. If you're going to cut weight, do it right:

Wax your car, but only with the wax that comes in a bottle the same colour as your car.
