I've had three different service managers tell me that the rigid body is the cause of the creaks. So, works as designed. My S5 creaks coming out of my drive and I hate it and then I step on the accelerator and I love it again.

That makes me feel better.My service manager said the same thing: just seems a little wacked but if the is the norm, I will deal with it.I am really surprised more people have not complained about this issue on the forum...

Good news guys I was able to isolate the problem and fix it. I no longer hear the popping sound in the roof when i pull into driveways. The headliner had to be completely removed, for this the front windshield had to be removed. There are two horizontal braces across the roof; one right near the back window, the other right near the moonroof. Both of these braces have some deteriorating foam sealer between the brace and the roof. Without removing their sealer we simply added some urethane cocking all the way along the seam between the brace and the roof on both braces. Now they're simply putting the car back together. My test drives without the headliner and windshield so far has proven successful with no noticeable popping sound coming from the roof.

6 years later, I'm here to report that the 2019 A5 Coupe still has the same creaking reported by earlier posters - when flexing while mounting paving that is at an angle etc..

Any other thoughts on the matter since 2013? It's definitely from the rear windscreen area. Have tried covering the rubber stops pointed out by others, but it persists.

I had a creaking/ knocking noise on my Audi S5 B9 for a long time when the car was on an unlevel surface like a speed bump. 2 garages couldn’t work out the issue.

I finally stumbled upon the issue. Loose cross braces under the car!!

4 loose bolts under the spare wheel tub under the car. I tightened those up and the issue was solved.
