Default Brilliant Black Paint Question-Issue

I have an A5 with Brilliant Black, but it looks like the paint job was done poorly.

I can see reflections/bubbles up close... but from a few steps back... its looks ok.

My friend came over to check out my car, and he told that he was the issue with his new Nissan Maxima.

My question... Is this normal? For the Brilliant Black to have reflections/bubbles up close?

It's not unusual for it to have orange peel (unfortunately), but it shouldn't have "bubbles". Are you speaking of orange peel?

No.... there is no orange peel... nor "bubbles"...

It's a glare effect... it's like when looking at it up close... you'll see it.

It reminds me like when I am painting something with spray paint can, and I rush it and it's no evenly painted.

Maybe it's just me...

any thoughts?

I know some newer European vehicles have a slight ripple/orange peel effect which comes from the factory and is standard. This is more obvious on darker vehicles. I have a 2001 Benx c230 in black and I see the ripples/orange peel effect more clearly after I detail/wax it.

if you are going to the dealer anytime soon, try to compare your paint to other cars. I don't think anyone up here will be able to help that much. Also, Audi has a very high stardard on their paint, I don't think they would ever do such things. Besides, this isn't even a hand paint car. If there is issue, it will be all over this forum.

Can't say I've noticed the same thing on my Brilliant Black A5.

I find the paint does chip very easily, but I doubt that is unique to Audi.

Gentlemen.... thanks for the feedback.

I'll go to the dealer and check out the other cars...... I am hoping that it is just me.

Thanks.
