Carbon build-up on intake valves
Hi everyone...
I have another question before I put in my order for a 2011 A5 2.0T. I've read a lot of info on the carbon build-up problem on Audi's direct injection engines. Is this an issue that still exists on the new models? If so, how susceptible is the the 2.0T engine to carbon build-up? Is it something that would keep anyone from buying the car if they knew about it before hand?

Hi, can you direct us to where you read this or have you actually seen this injector on an Audi? I just read another comment to this effect the other day on another forum. I'm thinking this is wishful thinking (just because Toyota did it?), but would really like to know if it is in fact true.
Thx

I wasn't clear in my last statement [typing from iphone]. However if you look at the new Q5 you'll see it, not sure on the A5 though.

That's good news. I read that Toyota/Lexus took that approach on their direct injection engines to prevent carbon on the intake valves. I didn't know Audi had done the same thing.
