I am new to this but I could not find this question posted anywhere so I thought I would throw it out there.
I was going to change the exhaust to the AWE but didn't like the price all that much so I talked to several custom shops. What we decided to do was to just change it one step at a time starting with the back mufflers. We were going to change them to flowmasters but started the car up with nothing on and it was the deep big block muscle car sound I was looking for. We put the new tips on and away I went.
Has anyone else done this? And has there or would there be any problems from it? Thanks.

Try this link. If it works great because I am rather tech challenged.

If you took the rear mufflers off, are you going to have problems with emissions/noise ordinances? In PA you would (at least if I pulled you over lol).
I'd look at the removal of the mufflers the same as putting cutouts on the exhaust. Granted it does sound WAY better mind you, I'd just worry about other complications.

So far so good. The car isn't as loud as the majority of v twin motorcycles on the road. As far as the emissions go, I do not know. In north Idaho we have more of a problem with people never taking their studded snow tires off!

The only issue you would have with emissions is if you core out the catalytic convertors, those are way up near the engine, doing things to the mufflers will only change sound and perhaps bakcpressure, which can either add or remove horsepower depending on what it does to the airflow characteristics in the exhaust.
