Default Clear Euro Bi-xenon Question

Will the euro bi-xenon version of the headlights (the aftermarket ones for $1000) fit on an A5 that DOES NOT have the factory bi-xenon option?

Im thinking of getting an A5 without premium, thus no xenon headlights and then purchase this aftermarket unit.

If you have the halogen headlamps, then I dont think the bulb and ballast will fit. May need to mod.

Default Has Anyone Tried Removing the Amber Lense in the US Headlamps?

I have done this on my trucks before, but never on an Audi. Can the headlamps be taken apart, amber removed or tinted and then glued back together?

Default Not the Right Answer

"Can't. Period" is not the kind of answer Im looking for. If you have tried it and it didnt work, id like your input as to why it didnt work. If you have never tried it and you are assuming it doesnt work, well Im looking for first hand knowledge.

You mean nobody has tried cutting open a pair of headlights from a $50k car then? If these headlights are made like other headlights, all you do is cut the glue holding them together, remove or paint the amber and then glue back together. Sure it takes some *****, but if your gonna pay $1000 for new ones anyway, why not give it a try on the old ones??

Default Nope. Tried, and the backing of the amber reflector is too integrated...

...with the other structure of the internals, not to mention how difficult it is to remove the internals to get at it.

Also, the adhesive used is MUCH stronger than those used in the past, and cannot be heated to loosen. The plastic will melt before the glue gives way.

Default It doesnt work, they use a new glue on these, that does not seperate.

Chop up your headlights as much as you want. I acquired a beat up head light and messed with it as much as possible, the only way you are getting to the amber is to break the front glass.

What about cutting the adhesive with a dremel tool?
