2010 s5 with 76k. Engine light came on. took it the the dealer. they stated it was the combination valve. 1200 to fix.
advisor stated its ok to drive, it pushes air into the catalytic convertor to burn gases on cold start ups. But im wondering what happens if i dont fix it. Does anyone know what problems it will cause?

I was told that it will only effect at time of smog and might effect the cats since it blow out any moisture. Will not throw the car in "limp mode".

$1200 is an astronomical number to fix the combi valves if that's what is truly wrong.
