considering a 2010 Audi A5 with 70k...
would I be right to assume the original warranty is expired even though the car is only 2 years old because of the high mileage.
any reason to stay away from the 2.0T with mileage that high?
thanks

Hey....
I bought my S5 with ALMOST 50K miles on it (2 years of use). The car was well cared for, but to be fair there were some chips in the front bumper and some pitting of the windshield (NORMAL wear issues). I thought for a while about purchasing an "Extended" warranty, since my car still was eligible for it, but i did not. Instead I took the $4000 that I would have spent, and used it for modifications such as an Exhaust, H&R springs, Blue tooth adaptor, spacers...and I still have some left for a new set of wheels and to repaint my bumper. My point is....these are very high quality cars, they should last for years if they were well cared for (look at the records). Dont be discouraged by high milage, my car looks as good (or better now) as the day it left the showroom.

Highway miles are the best thing for a car if taken care of. My wife drives her Subaru Outback 35,000 plus a year.
We change the oil and service every 7K with Synthetic oil and drive within 10 of the speed limit. 98% of her miles are highway. At 38,000 the brakes and tires still look new. Zero warranty repairs and with a clear bra the front id flawless. That said well cared for highway cars are fine if cared for. I would rather have a car that is all highway with 35K on it than a car with 20 driven in the city of NY. Look it over.

I have 75,400 miles on my 2006 A6 and have driven it for 6 years. Aside from brake pads and tire replacements, the only thing I replaced was a airbag light bulb that went bust. It still looks and drives like brand new.
I expect the same reliability from my 2012 S5. However, you may want to take a look the website below. The 2012 of the A5/S5 version is more reliable than the 2011 version, and the 2011 version is more reliable than the 2010 version. I suppose that's because Audi has fixed the bugs of the earlier version.

....Of course, all previous years will have more issues than newer cars.

Another thing to keep in mind about the True Delta website is that the sample size for many models is too small to be statistically significant.
