Could someone please test something for me? Does your valet key open all locks on the car?

Mine works on all locks including the glove box... What's the reason of having a valet key then?

Default How to correctly use the valet key:::

to use the valet key, remove the actual metal key from the fob, open the glove box and press the valet button. Close and lock the glove box with the metal key and give valet the fob.

The fob will only open the side doors and cannot open the trunk( because you activated the valet button) and cannot open the glove box( requiring the metal key that you keep)

Default I havent tried using the fob only. But what is the black plastic fob for? The one that fits the

black plastic key in from the side? I thought that one was for valet?

Default I have never moved that from my glove box, i think its kind of an emergency key.

If in the event your regular key doesn't work, i imagine that one does. (not advanced key, of course)

Default Haha, this car is fun to have valet take it for you. They always love to check it out, let alone

drive one.

I guess i'm careful with stuff in the glove box and my trunk. Not that i am keeping bricks of gold or drugs, or handguns. I always have to explain it to the valet guys, and i never use the e - brake.

Default Stupid, but related, question regarding emergency key....

...the manual says to keep the plastic emergency key "in a safe place and do not carry it on your key ring." (pg 46)...

BUT there's a compartment for the emergency key's "adapter" in the glove box...

AND you can start the car with the emergency key and adapter...

DOES that mean that the glove box is a "safe place" to keep both the emergency key and adapter? Doesn't seem that safe to me.

OR DOES that mean that you should keep the emergency key in your sock drawer and the adapter in the glove box? That doesn't make sense to me either.

I know I'm putting more thought into this than is necessary, but would still appreciate your thoughts & inputs.
