Default A couple of questions for the group.

Hi, I'm Robbie from Mobile, AL and currently I'm driving an 04 S4 that I got new at the end of March, 04. I also had an 00 S4 and a couple of allroads, an 02 and a 05.

1. Is the milage just as bad as my car or has it improved?

2. I'm a long term XM subscriber and hate to lose that. Has anyone figured out a way to let you keep the XM in the factory radio?

3. To anyone who leased the S5 what kind of numbers were you quoted.

Thanks in advance for your help, and yes I have seen one a black one near Boston last week and it was sharp. Robbie

Default Re: A couple of questions for the group.

1. i got tremendous MPG with my 2004 1.8T (around 25mpg city/highway mixed, primarily city) i guess the S4 got much worse?

2. audi (as well as BMW) has exclusively moved to Sirius. in my new A5 i find it comparable to XM although i preferred XM, but no choice. you would have to use an aftermarket unit for that.

3. the leases on A5s are going 750-1000 depending on equipment and lender with zero down. fully-loaded ($49875-discount of 750) i got $833 with USbank with zero down. AFS is sigificantly worse. The S5's are about the same residual and MF, so you can do a simple comparison with the MSRPs.

I'm not sure if your dealer can do this for you. Find out where the sat unit goes. You can buy a Terk SIRSP splitter and put in an XM unit. I've done it before on an A4 Cab. The splitter requires some minor modding. Grinding off some stuff, nothing major.

Default I have heard different things on fuel consumption. Be prepared for double....

I believe the S5 doesn't use double the gas of a 1.8T but with the power, I'm sure you'll 'enjoy' the car more... and use twice as much gas.

Having said that, you don't buy this car for its fuel efficiency.
