The A5 is the coupe version of the A4, but the S4 and S5 are completely different vehicles then the A versions.

The A4, S4, A5, and S5 are built on the same platform, have the same interior design and materials, and share the same drivetrains, with the exception of the difference between the 4.2L V8 in the S5 and the 3.0T in the S4. It is completely accurate to call the A5 the coupe version of the A4.

Insulted? lol I don't go that far on vehicles. Looking alike and being alike are two different things. I disagree on A4 and A5 being same vehicles, just put the two together and they have a resemblance but to say that are same vehicle or that the coupe is the A4 coupe is wrong, interiors are also like but not quite the same, A4 is narrower in every way and angle so it's impossible they share same platform, perhaps same structural materials. I do not own an S5 but my S-Line A5 6MT has nothing to envy the bigger brother, this vehicle may not be an S vehicle but performance/handling wise is close enough for a +$10K and guzzler tax difference.

Ofcourse the interior is narrower, it has a different body on it!!

but the A4 and A5 are built on the same platform, they have the same exact interior, and the same engine/transmission. The only difference is obviously the body.

and p.s. if spending $50k doesnt hurt you then spending $10k more on the S5 shouldn't..

I always felt if you cant afford 2 of the car your buying then you cant afford 1.

There is no dispute that the A4, S4, A5 and S5 share the B8 platform. The A5 is a de facto A4 coupe, but has a sexier exterior and a $3500 coupe price premium. The differences between the A4 and A5 are essentially the same as those between the 3 series sedan and coupe.
