Default Dealer said beware price increase

I'm looking at a Jan or Feb build date at this point, still trying to decide on colors/options, etc. Anyway, in the mean time, the dealer told me that there *may* be a slight price increase come january 08. Sounds like bullshi+ to me, I cant really think of a time or brand which had a mid-year price change? What do you guys think ?

probably BS, but they may make the drive select a standard feature and charge a bit more

Default I think that there is a possibilty of a price increase...

...as the dollar has fallen considerably against every major currency that I can think of. And me thinks that the slide has a ways to go as the underlying fundamentals of the dollar's weakness continue to grow (huge trade deficit, the unwinding of the highly leveraged financial market, foreign markets unloading dollars, low fed interest rate, etc.)

Default The Euro is at its strongest in years... why is it BS to expect a price increase?

We Americans pay the least for European cars. Try buying an Audi in Germany, GB, Asia, even CANADA! You gotta pay to play

Default Prices in Germany include 19% VAT...

The price is less here, but not by that much.

Default The reason they won't is

that they just priced the car about a month ago. The currency market was a known entity (Audi isn't new to this), and was already taken into account.

I think the dealer is pulling a scummy stunt where he's trying to get the buyer to commit earlier than he is ready, so he can get the sale booked earlier.

If I were him, I'd find another dealer, or at least another salesman, and tell this dickhole exactly why.

Default With the Dollar crashing against the Euro, it surprises me that Audi can sell it for what it is now.

Somebody up top better get this dollar situation corrected fast or we'll have a lot more to worry about than rising car costs. I do wonder why the dealer would say that though, seems odd.
