can you also just pay the amount of the a5 as a deposit. or in this case, what you'll think it would be?

How much did you pay total and payments (if leased)?

I put down $500 deposit (via cc) fully refundable for my S5, and that was for 1% above invoice. I never even step into the showroom to see my dealer. Everything was done over the phone/fax until the day I went to pick it up.

i got mine for roughly 47-48k but that's because i traded in my 06 tsx which they gave me for 18k so that saved me 2k+ in taxes. It will be different if you don't trade in anything.

For a loaded Prestige A5 Cabrio Quattro: $2,500 deposit toward $1,200 over invoice. The deposit is on the high side, but the Quattro is odd for Southern California, and the dealer claims he was able to grab one from someone else's allocation order, since the deposit appears serious. Ordered Sept. 28; expect to deliver near the end of December. I don't really mind the high deposit, with checking/savings account interest rates so low these days I'm not really losing measurably by paying this part in advance. Plus, by paying by AmEx right at the start of my billing cycle, the credit card payment won't be due for nearly 60 days.
