All of the B8 platform vehicles will be updated in spring 2012 for 2012.5 or 2013. At this time, the S5 coupe will ditch it's normally aspirated gasoline 4.2L V8 (which is absolutely unnecessary for this car) and optional eight-speed Tiptronic (or optional dinosaur six-speed Tiptronic) automatic transmission for the supercharged gasoline 3L V6 (which, in every conceivable way other than sound, makes far more sense for this car) and far superior to Tiptronic (in every conceivable way) optional seven-speed S Tronic DSG (direct shift gearbox) transmission.
Outside of braking, handling, steering and traction in ice, rain sleet and snow with the proper tires, in all aspects of performance (including the following: ride comfort, control, firmness, smoothness and stability), the S5 coupe with the S/C (S/C being supercharged) V6 and S Tronic will be better than the S5 coupe with V8 and Tiptronic due to lower weight and better weight distribution.
Also, the S5 coupe with S/C V6 and S Tronic will have better fuel economy and lower emissions and lower all around costs than the S5 coupe with V8 and Tiptronic.
The dependability, durability, quality, reliability, safety, satisfaction, security and service of the S5 will still be the same (namely, very good to almost class leading if you exclude the Asians, despite what some disgruntled, judgmental North American Audi financiers, leasers and owner on the message boards and facebook would mis lead people to believe). All of this is based on CR and TD (screw what JD P&A and SV have to say unless it 100% matches what CR and TD have to say).

I have noticed that there are a lot of 2011 S5's dumped into the market by Audi recently, and I bought one yesterday myself. I also directly heard that the 2012's will have a facelift, DSG, and the V6 available in August.
