You certainly can still bargain. If the 2013 invoice prices aren't yet available (I haven't looked) you can ballpark it based on 2012 as there shouldn't be a great deal of escalation.

Default European Discount

I am trying to order a 2013 S5 for European Delivery. The discount for European Delivery is 5% of MSRP, or about equal to invoice on US delivery. How does European Delivery invoice differ from US delivery? I would like to get a few more bucks off. It seems like it should be at least an additional 3% off MSRP.

Example: MSRP $60,000 ED $57,000 ED Invoice $55,200

BMW typically quotes Euro delivery for US-bound vehicles at 7% reduction. They're able to do this as it therefore doesn't impact their US-delivery quota. I would presume Audi is similar.

Default Me Too! Best Strategy

I also am hoping to special order an S5 once the order guide is released.

If I am wanting delivery in July or August, should I get myself on a "wait list" right now?

How exactly does that work? Do you need to place a deposit?

From what my dealer told me, they get the pricing list a week before orders open up, so the people on the waitlist get about a week to decide all the options/colors and discuss pricing. When the orders open up, they are submitted according to the waitlist order.

I read that people have to put a deposit down, but I didn't have to. There was nobody on the S5 waitlist a few weeks ago when I went, but there had already been 4 for the RS5. Not sure what the status of it is now.
