Default DIY Oil Change and Spark Plug change on 09 S5

I just got a quote from an Audi dealer for 788.00 for the 55K miles service. I about threw up. I was wondering if any of you S5 owners have changed out the spark plugs and did your own oil change and filter change? If so, what was the level of difficulty and time consumption?

Thanks

difficulty level i'd say a 1 on a 1-10 scale, couldn't be easier the layout is perfect imo.
just get yourself a Pela oil extractor and do it from up top, filter is under the engine cover by firewall, easy access 32mm? (can't remember off hand).
oem oil filter is about $12, then you'll need 9.5 quarts of your favorite 5w40 synthetic oil.
as far as spark plugs, i haven't done it on the s5 but looks easier than most german cars. plenty of space, the usual just pull out coils and change plugs, proper torque, etc...
let's say you have 0 tools and have to get some, even then you'll still be ahead by diy compared to what you got quoted, plus getting to know your car, becoming familiar with it, and knowing next time how to do it on pretty much any car, is pretty priceless.

I would rate the difficulty as 1 for oil + oil filter change.
Spark plugs are easy to replace as well, but you need to move the coolant expansion and the airbox cover to aside for access. Since you will be replacing the air filter anyways, airbox cover will be removed regardless. For the cabin filter, it is right under the glovebox and hold by couple fasteners. I took some pics when I did my 55k service. I will try to post them when I have time.

Overall difficulty would be 2/10.

You could also consider Audicare Plus. It'll cost about $1200, but it'll include 55K, 65K and 75K.

If you want a general idea of changing the spark plugs, look on Youtube for spark plug changes to A4 or similar Audi vehicle. It will be a different engine, but the process is very similar and quite easy.
