Default Do the S5's Side View Mirrors Fold In

In the manual it say to fold the side view mirrors in when parking in narrow spots, but I can't find a place where it tells you how to do this.

On the newer S5's, the folding in the mirror housings is manually done, whereas the earlier model years allowed you to fold them in by turning the mirror adjustment **** to a set detent. I can't speak for the **** in the earlier S5's, but if I turned the **** in my 2004 A4 to the bottom detent, the mirror housings will fold in.

Mine's an 09 - I assume it's a manual fold in because I have played with the **** and can't figure it out.

I believe this feature (power folding mirrors) was discontinued after the 2008 MY. My 09 A5 did not offer it (nor did the S5??). Rumor was it had something to do with the new Side Assist option that came out in 09.

They still fold manually.

My 2006 A4 had power folding mirrors, but my 2009 A4 and 2011 S5 do not.

I remember hearing that it was discontinued to cut costs for the US market (probably due to our weak currency). I think the Euro market still has them possibly.

I have powered mirrors in my '08 but were discontinued in '09 for some reason
