Just wanted to chime in here as several have asked and no one answered...at least that I saw.

The trim IS Carbon Fiber. Its not just some sticker. The peeling that is happening is likely the clear coat resin that is layed over the Carbon.

Yeah I am in Hong Kong and the warranty is totally different. There is no free service packages and the warranty is only for 2yrs. You can purchase extended warranties but they are really expensive as remember it's 100% tax here, so 50=100. The pricing is comparable. That's where the car makers make their money on foreign markets, even where the tax on all imports is 100-300%. China is 130%.

Picking up the car today (after a 1 day service took 3) and they are NOT fixing the rear carbon trim pieces.

I didn't get to post pics as I took the car in but as another posted said his girlfriend was cut by it - and my 4 and 7 year olds sit back there and the same thing could happen.

Totally pisses me off that I have to spend time to get this defect fixed, but I guess that is what Audi is today - any other big car manufacturer.

Anyone know the name and number of the Philly area regional rep?

TIA.

Do you know who told you this or if there is anyway for me to prove I know about this to AudiUSA or my dealer?

TIA

Actually, this is a pretty common problem with the OEM carbon fiber trim.

This is the exact issue I had w/the CF trim in my '05 S4 cab, all trim in the car was starting to peel off from the backing. It's why I stuck w/the standard aluminum trim in my current '13 S5. Just left a very bad taste in my mouth w/my dealer not handling it.

I have a $100 carbon fiber "truth in engineering" plate frame that is peeling. It's a shame that such costly cars and parts don't hold up.

My two cents.
