And so does University Audi in Seattle. You have to register with Costco first and then they'll give you the name of the exact agent at the dealer who does the deals. I registered with Costco a couple of weeks ago and they told me the name at Barrier, it's the same salesperson who does internet sales. They also told me to directly contact her without talking to any other sales rep. However, I don't yet know if there are restrictions on new models or special orders, I have an inquiry pending on that question. By the time I wait to get my A5 with an AT, maybe the new model hype will be waning. It seems that Costco would have a contractual agreement with the dealer that spells out restrictions, if any. Costco brings them volume business, they shouldn't bite the hand that feeds them! Also, I live in the Seattle area which is the international headquarters of Costco and they are a major business player here.

... I wasn't aware of it until after I purchased my car. This purchase was a last minute decision too. And a bad one.

I called them this morning. All the discounts are strictly negotiated with dealers but most "speciality" models are typically not discounted. It's all influenced by supply and demand factors. The guy at Costco said Corvette was an example. He said in his experience of a couple of years with the Costco auto buying program, he's never heard of a specific Audi model not being discounted. We'll have to see how the supply and demand goes for the new A5/S5.

... does this deal also depend on the model?
In other words, whether a car is discounted or not depends on the model, but once it qualifies, the discount will always be $X over invoice, X being always the same number?
