Hey All,
My lease is up the end of September. I went to an Audi dealership today and test drove an A5 and S5. I was hoping to save a little money and go with the A5, but after driving both, the S5 was the right one for me.
My original plan was just to test drive choices, decide on a model and then wait till the end of my lease (October 1), which is also the end of the quarter. I was hoping by waiting till the end of the quarter, I would get the best deal on a 2016 (especially since the 2017's will be in stock by then). That being said, the salesman and sales manager offered me this deal, if I take it by end August...
2016 S5 Coupe
Daytona pearl grey
Tech package
Fine Napa Leather package
Carbon Atlas Inlays
18" all season tires (I don't want to swap tires in winter)
MSRP $60,250
24 months (need to do a short term lease)
7,500 miles
Audicare included
$835 per month
As this is will be my first Audi, I'd love any thoughts on whether this is a fair deal and or what a good deal would be. Keep in mind that NY state tax is about 8.8%.
Looking forward to becoming an Audi family member.
Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

The MSRP is $60,250. Ignorantly, I didn't ask the discounted selling price. I truly wasn't expecting to even contemplate purchasing this month...so I definitely didn't ask all the right questions. Also, I wanted to gain knowledge / expectations on prices from this forum, before I started negotiating.
The $1,400 due at signing covers tax, doc, acquisition, TTL. It was higher, but they reduced it to $1,400 to cover the cost of my current cars final lease payment.

I had a trade-in on my '15 S5, which mixed up the deal slightly, but I am paying $987 per month for 24 months w/7500 miles per year. My S5 stickered at $64k. Sounds like you got a decent deal. Just remember, Audi doesn't have very good leasing programs. I LOVE my S5, but when my lease is up in December I will probably be going with another brand with better lease options.

Actually Audi has "real" leasing programs. They do not overly inflate the residual values to lower your payments (like BMW does). The residual values are a pretty accurate estimate of the real value of the car at lease end. In the long run this actually works out better for you as the car may be worth more than the residual. If you look at a 3 year BMW lease, you will find that the value of the car at lease end is not even close to the residual value. If you were thinking of buying you car off-lease, an Audi makes more sense.....
