Got a call from the dealer today (first one in 6 months)
Unfortunately, it was not good news.
They got an a5 allocation this round (october delivery) and he was calling to see if I wanted it. I'm thinking it over, but I'll probably pass.
All that means is that the soonest I will see an s5 is november 2008. I placed a deposit the last week of november 2007.
I'm pretty much speechless at this point.

i think they overdid the whole limited availability thing
it's like they are trying to turn the brand into ferrari or something, i dont really get it. It's a nice car but there's so much competition at this pricepoint, seems weird having a limited production 50k car. i guess it feeds the whole getting a car because not everyone has it deal.

if we are talking about the S5 its a 60K car but your point is accurate but worldwide we
are the last place Audi can make the most return on them so i get the slow roll out here.
