Most things, when hyped up and awaited, are doomed to disappoint. The S5 was exactly the opposite... The more I waited for the car to arrive, the more I thought about giving up and getting the RS4... Thank goodness I waited!
When I got to the dealership on Saturday, I started smiling the minute I saw my freshly detailed car. I got in, and I smiled. I pushed the start button, smiled. Touched the throttle, smiled. etc, etc, etc. Even signing the paperwork to give the dealership all of my money was a happy moment.
It may be a fault of my arrogance, but even seeing people come to the dealership, get out of their cars, and migrate directly to the S5 made me smile.
When I got on the road to go home, I couldn't help feeling like a goon since I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Every person passing on the highway had to think I had just gotten out of my special school.
I finally remember how it feels to love driving... Coming in to the office this morning was a pleasure. Now I just can't wait until lunch....

I also smile when:
the light turns red
I walk away and turn around
I clean it
The snow falls

described your reaction. My delivery was for today, 1/14. But pushed back to next Monday, 1/21. Many times thought about taking my deposit back, but you put the smile and hope back in me. Hope that was not TOO lame. Congrats, again!!

I felt the same way when I got my TT back in 2001... I couldn't stop smiling or thinking about it! I still miss that car... the A4 I have now almost never makes me smile... meh... maybe I need an S5, too! :-)
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
