I recently purchased a new 2011 with a standard Bose sound system. When I listen to music, I feel like something is missing (especially the bass). I am not a crazy audiphile but what are some things I can do to improve this sound system? Under ($700)

i know with the symphony bose they had secret eq settings, witch is night and day difference, you had to hold down i think button 3 and turn power on then manualy adjust i did mine, and if i didnt know i would of just upgraded, now it sounds great and stock, idk about yours though

I've added a sub and amp to stock systems before with wonderful results. With the battery and signal available in your trunk in the a5, installation would be a breeze. You could do this within your budget.

By button 3, which button are you referring to?

sorry its button 5 hold down button radio preset number 5 and turn on radio while still holding button down and there will be 8 numbers as follows


a lower bass front
b mid bass front
c mid range front
d treble front

e bass rear
f mid bass rear
g mid range rear
h treble rear

settings are from 1-10
i think i have mine like 97679767 put those numbers in see how you like it

edit; when you first turn on the display while holding button 5 it will look like 55555555 just adjust numbers from above chart try my numbers first see if you like
