I have an appointment to get unitronic stage 1 chip today, anybody think this is a good or bad idea?

I don't want to screw my car up obviously, it seems that these guys work quite a bit with Audi's, and input would be appreciated, thanks.

the slight chance of something going wrong, then enjoy.
Always use a local brick and morter shop so that if you have problems, you have somewhere to take it other than just the dealer.

the 4.2 ecu has been changed, and they needed to upgrade something, not really sure what. They're doing waterfest this weekend, so they told me to call on Tuesday, and we can take care of it. As for the post about the warranty, it is undetectable to the dealer, therefore doesn't void anything.

isn't looking for at this moment. Dealer/manufacturer orders up a copy anonymously, figures out how to detect it (remember, they may not even test the engine ECU directly, but look for tell-tales in one or more other computers throughout the car - they all talk to one another), then keeps that ace up their sleeve until they need to deploy it on a large warranty claim. They won't bust the small claims, which would warn the tuners to change things again.
