If the S5 handling vs. e92 M3, IS-F, 135i can do this well, can't wait to see the New RS5...

Very impressed with the RS6 Avant considering it weighs so much.

XPost to RS6.com (Credit to Original Member Post)

On a shorter track with more turns, the 335i and the 135 spanked the S5
and the 335i has bested the RS4 on some very short tracks(VIR). When the track shortens, the M3 handles the RS4 easily, though in the above link it was the M3 Cab. The 135 also beat the cayman in a couple of head to head battles, though by tenths.....I'll look for some links........the overall power of the RS6 covers up some of its handling difficulty, which at its weight no amount of hp can overcome...a real beast of vehicle
That said, the S5 is a great looking ride, sounds mean, handles pretty well for a realatively heavy GT car. I'm looking forward to the RS5.....if they can keep the weight down, it will set the bar again.......

I'd be interested in seeing this "spanking". Reviews I've read/seen thus far have the S5
having a faster time on the Nurburgring, not to mention this test. At worst, it had a virtual tie (3/100ths of a second) on the infamous Fifth Gear Video posted all over the Internet. There are obviously variables to consider in all of these tests, different drivers, tracks, conditions, etc, etc, but it's good to see the S5 finishing consistently in top standings with comparative vehicles.
Considering that the S5 is down 66bhp compared to some of the 420bhp cars, it stands it's ground very well. I was hoping that the next RS5 would use some sort of supercharging or turbocharging to give it that edge. Either way, maybe with some weight saving technology, they can get the car down far enough to take it to the next level. After seeing the GTR on the streets this weekend, I'm curious if the RS5 can reach similar levels of performance but I don't see how that will be possible as the GTR has 480bhp and 430ft/lbs torque which are very conservative numbers.
