Default Increasing turbo 4 horsepower?

I am considering buying an S4 or an A5. I am trying to keep the price to max around 55K. An S5, when optioned the way I want it, goes for around 60K. So I was thinking of getting a fully loaded A5, with prestige and S-Line package. I love the S-Line seats. But I want to get around 5 second 0-60 mph time since I have a MB C350 and I feel like that car is slow. It does 0-60 in about 6 seconds flat. So I was thinking if there is an easy aftermarket solution to increasing the horsepower to about 275 horses or so, or more low-end torque fairly cheap. Since this engine is shared with a lot of other cars, I'd think there are a lot of aftermarket parts out there, no? When I test drove the S4 I loved how it can just take off like a rocket from a standstill. I want to duplicate that in the A5. Since S5 is a NA engine, I bet it can't bet the S4 in that kind of acceleration from a stop, right? So S4 has the performance that I love, but the A5 has the looks that I love. It's so hard to make a decision.

With 55k, you can lay your hand on many many barely used S5 with little miles. That will def get you 5s 0-60. You will have to spend a lot more money + working hours to get anywhere close to that on an A5.

I am sure you can get a full equipped 2010 S4 for $55K.. it will resemble your C350 but give you that extra boost you are seeking OR you can get a used 6MT 3.2 A5 and live in the mid 5 sec 0-60 mark. I won't even mention the 2.0T because you would need that plus spend $10K minimum to achieve the 5sec mark.

I suggest you find an 08 or 09 pre-owned/certified S5, for sure it will be below $55K, you can't go wrong with an S5. Go to AOL or Yahoo autos or Cars.com and there are plenty of S5 out there used/pre-owned/certified with low miles.

275hp may be hard to get on a 2.0T A5 IMHO. That being said, APR's 93-oct file alone will get you a hefty 333lb-ft of torque, at 234hp. Add an FMIC, HFC, and exhaust, and you may get close to your hp goal.

I'm all about torque tho.

Here's my most recent pic:

My next mod will probably be an FMIC. AWE has the only B8 2.0T FMIC available right now but Eurocode and RaceTec are working on theirs. I'm not 100% convinced that AWE's FMIC is the optimal solution, so I'm waiting for other offerings to hit the market before making my decision. FMICs aren't cheap so I want to make sure I make the right choice.

I'm currently not planning on installing an HFC, at least until I get an FMIC to balance out the ECU tune.

How do you like the APR chip? Any problem with it since you had it? How quick do you think your car is to 0-60?

The APR tune is great; it transforms the car into what it should have been from the factory IMHO. Smooth power delivery for daily drivability and the power comes on early. Of course, it is still a turbo 4 so power fades at higher RPMs, but that can be addressed w/ an FMIC, HFC, and exhaust to an extent. No problems to report whatsoever.

0-60 largely depends on the driver. If I wanted to give you an impressive 0-60, I'd brake boost close to 3k RPMs for a hard launch, but I don't treat my car like that. You should be able to find 0-60 times for tiptronic B8 2.0Ts running the APR tune if you look hard enough.
