My dealer finally got a spot to place an order for an S5, I took it and it will be here in late March. He also told me they built 250 for the US last year, which I already knew...but he also said that they were ONLY building 1000 total for 2008 for the U.S. Can anyone confirm that. I can't believe they would build that few...

I was on the waiting list to order since last March, but the dealership I went to is small and did not get a allocation till last week. He said they will only get one other then mine this year.

I just got an email from my sales person stating "...at this moment NO allocations have been posted by Audi AG..."

It seems like if your order isn't confirmed at the factory, you won't get one till 2009

those Demos are starting to look nicer now.. hmm.. lol, just kidding..

In my case I'm ready to back out, I'll be returning the S4 in about 3 months and I got the "beast" already (2008 Aveo), so I can make better use of that little extra cash flow at least until the options and S5 production gets better.

That's how many R8s Audi is selling that is hand made.

Audi sold 625 s5s in the US in 07. The S5 sales should be fairly big.
