I would agree on the pointing the finger at the ipod. I have an iPod classic about 2-3 yrs old, and it works just fine. Always picks up exactly where it was when I turned off the car - even if I don't drive for a few days. I bet your iPod is dying - pull it out of the car and see if it can survive overnight on its own power. If an iPod is turned off, the battery should last for months...

I can leave my car off for several days and it starts where I left off. Then I shut it off for a half hour and turn it back on and it starts over. It makes me crazy since I have 2500 songs on there that I can't seem to get through without it starting over. My sales rep has the same problem with his A4 and he has no idea how to make it not happen.
