I agree. I saw another B8 on the road the other day and loved how the classic bulb gives a smooth and even glow. Now, if they implemented this like the 5-series, I might say different.

like this, but something more subtle and Audi-like.

never mind LEDs, I am waiting and hoping to have the 2 stage brake lights come into fashion here in NA, now that would be nice and a safety upgrade

I think that's do-able with vagcom. I remember reading a setting somewhere that will flash your brake lights if you slam on it hard.

On the B8 A4, I found this in the vagcom mods:

STG 46 - Comfort System
STG Coding -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8

Bit 0 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active (1 = active)
Bit 1 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active (1 = active)

I'm in the same boat. I've never understood why so many folks were craving them. The only 2010 item I really wish I could have would be the 3G MMI. I would have been less happy with the LED tails over the regular.

same here...all I ever wanted was a real useable NAV. At least I didnt have to have the ghetto tail lights. That would have been a bummer. Honestly, if someone said, i'll upgrade your nav, but you have to take the LEDS, id say no. It's just SO not in character with audi styling.

In my case I wanted the 3.2 MT more than the 3G MMI. I couldn't have both and I opted for the stick. The lack of the LED tails just makes it a bit more palatable.

Not in with audi character??? hmmm well all the models are going to have them. If the 08-09 tails filled the outline better like the 5series above i'd like them better too. They just seem to weak imo

Do you have any idea, how much modification and money needs to be spent to change tail lights to the new LED version?
