Default there's now way the engine is 15cm closer to the firewall
the only they they did is move the front axle forward giving it a longer wheelbase.

Default From what I see in the pics, the engine is further back + front axle moved forward.
I think the 15cm figure is the result of having both of those done.

Put a side view pic of the A5 right next to a B6/B7 pic and you'll notice a big difference

Default 15cm. As Moro points out a function of extended wheelbase and engine in chassis.
In some instances with this new modular chassis, portions of the forward drive apparatus will be housed in the engine block.

idk what pics you're looking at, the cutaway shows the only thing behind the rear axle is the tranny
