That powertrain pushes the RS5 to 62 in just 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically controlled at 155 mph, but owners wishing for a little more speed can opt to unlock it for a full 174 mph. That performance is delivered without excessive fuel consumption; Audi lists the RS5’s mileage at 21.78 mpg U.S.

I predict mass suicides in some states due to that sentence!

im personally not that impressed. For me to trade my S5 in plus $20k-30k cash just does not seem worth it for a .3 second to 60 difference and less torque

Default RS5 Pricing

Love the new RS5, however, I just saw where the base pricing is anticipated to be approx. $105,000. Wouldn't the RS5 be in direct competition with the BMW M3 which has a base price in the $65,000 to $70,000 range. Don't get me wrong ... I would rather have a RS5 but $105,000 is utterly insane.

The lowest priced R8 starts at about $115,000 and about $125,000 with some options. For about another $20,000 I'd rather get that R8 than the RS5.

I don't believe it's going to cost $105K. They got to that number by taking the price quoted in Euros (77K) and converting it to $ at today’s exchange rate but that’s not how it works. For example, the base S5 price in Germany, in Euros, is 58,150. Converting that to $ at today’s exchange rate would make you think that the US base price for the same car is a little over $79K but we know that the base MSRP in the US is $52,400. That approx 33% less than the German Euro price convert to $. So, if we apply the same % reduction to the RS quoted price, it will come in with a base price of around $70K or so. Depending on the options, you could probably walk out the door for about $80K all said and done.

As always, you mileage may vary, not legal in all states, void where prohibited, ect, ect, ect.
