i also went through this confusion 5 month ago before i went s4, i wanted a 6mt, so after driving both cars, here's what went on:
* looks..a5 all the way(no one can argue that)
* price.. i was leasing, so even though the s4 was 4g's more, the lease # were close enough.. wash
* driving impression.. the 2.0t was a strong engine, great torque, but the clutch was way too light, steering way also too light that they took a lot off the fun factor, the a4's clutch was much more weighed in, steering (specially in dynamic mode) was much tighter, then it was that v6, also engine note while not as awesome as a v8, was much better than the 2.0t..
* practicality.. the a5 back seat is too tight for adults, my kids at 6 & 9 could've fit, but the s4 is a lot easier to use.
the a5 is a great car, with a lot of appeal, so you won't go wrong either way

I went to the Audi dealership about 2 months ago looking at the A4/S4's. I got there and decided it wasn't really the car for me, so I ended up test driving a 2010 A6 with the 3.0T. I really liked the car but again, the styling just wasn't there for me. They had two S5's on the lot so I decided to test drive one of those. I loved everything about the car.

After doing research, it was down to the A5 or the S5 and it took me about a month to decide. I ended up with a 2011 A5 S-Line with the prestige package and side assist. I was worried that the 2.0T wouldn't be enough motor for me since my previous cars were V8's(2000 Trans Am Ws6 and 2004 Mystic Cobra). The 2.0T has plenty of power for daily driving and I have lots of fun driving it. I was coming from a lifted truck this time(07 Titan) so gas milage was my BIGGEST concern and the S5 just didn't have it. Overall, I am very pleased with the A5 so far, I have only had it 3 weeks now and have 900 miles on it now though. I would have loved the S5 but for the extra money, I just didn't think it was worth it. I wasn't buying this car to race and I'll be driving 1 hour each way to work every day so the A5 was the perfect choice for me.

is the speed difference between 2.0T and 3.2L pretty significant? can anyone describe it in details?

Say what? My S4 gets great gas mileage compared to anything with the 4.2 I've ever driven and put thousands of miles on. Drive like a maniac and the S4 will of course suck it down...drive reasonably and 24-25mpg is easily attainable in a mixed environment.

s4, the A5 with only 2.0t is a dog. I believe the 2.0t a5 is the slowest of the A models.
