Default Need to Re-order 2009 ?

After seeing Dopevector's unfortunate experience, do people think ALL of us are going to need to re-order our cars? I know there are new options and what not, but I spoke to my dealer last week, and he told me YES, your car will be an '09, and NO you do not need to re-order. thoughts?

I was told the same thing, however you will need to confirm with them whether you want the Direct Drive option or not once pricing comes out in 3-4 weeks.

Default Misunderstanding?

I think you may have misunderstand my response to chairman's post. I was trying to convey that the theory/explanation for SOME orders showing up in the order bank as canceled is simply house keeping in Audi's system i.e. it shows up as canceled so it can be moved to an '09 order since '08's are no longer in production.

I do not have an order in at this time, nor do I work for a dealer. I was just trying to relay information that had been posted in an earlier thread that I thought may have been useful to chairman.

At any rate, never hurts to contact your dealer if you are unsure of your status.

Sorry if my response led to confusion.

Default My dealer converted mine automatically

I went by on Thursday, and the sales manager had just converted my order to a 2009 the day before. He deleted side assist for me, since it's now part of the tech package. I'm guessing that when they actually got the allocation, he would have called me to see if I wanted anything new like Drive Select, but I'm too impatient to wait for phone calls, and I go by every few weeks just to check on status and make sure my name and face aren't forgotten should an extra slot open earlier.
