Does anyone know if a New Audi comes with Break-In Oil made specifically for breaking in the engine to a new car? Honda claims they use it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Audi service manager told me this morning that new Audis come from Germany with the same oil used for regular changes at dealers in the USA. I asked about this because I usually change oil after the first 1000 miles in a new car, but would not if break in oil was required to stay in the car for the first 5000.

my name should have been Thomas.
and that's why I don't believe what your Audi service manager has told you.
my 2.0 TFSI - febr. 2010 has had an oil consumption of 1 liter for every 6 - 7.000 kms.
after the first oil change the oil consumption has doubled.
and not gradually, but right from the day the original oil was changed.
that's why I don't believe the original oil was the same as the dealer has put in, i.e. 5W-30, which is the default oil for long life service.
