I totally forgot to order some new TPMS sensors, can the TPMS from the stock wheels be transferred to the new wheels.
Quatt and Roswell? Is this what you did? Also did you have any problems fitting the TPMS on the DPE wheels?
Thanks in advance

I got a new set of sensors.. ran me about 250 for a set.
They simply install on the rim before you mount tires. If you're not going to use your stock wheels it might be a good idea to just use the sensors from those, but i'll be switching back when cold weather returns in December.
Once you put new ones on just reset current pressures through MMI and you're done.

I went out and purchased a new set. Reason being, wanted the option to be able to
install my factory wheels back on the car at anytime. Also, the labor cost to remove/replace the tires ($80 - 100) in order to get the TPMS sensors out helped to offset the price of purchasing a new set. You definitely can use the stock one's though.

What rims are you guys using for your winter tires - I assume 18"? Heard S5 has new hubs, and most available aftermarket wheels don't fit yet. Pleae let me know make and style name, because I'm trying to get myself ready for next winter.

I'm running my stock wheels with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D tires in 255/35/19
It works really well for me. They're great tires with little road noise, good traction and feel smooth.
There's a few people here with smaller winter setups. Folkie and someone else with a red S5 have good looking 18s.

Lots of potholes where I live (MA). Road crews will probably start filling them in soon, but I've had to be very careful to avoid them - sometimes it's impossible in the dark. A 19" wheel doesn't provide much leeway, and I had to replace two tires on my previous ride (A6 4.2) because of sidewall bubbles. I always thought a smaller diameter (but cool looking) wheel might be a good idea in the winter, just haven't found one yet.
