Am approaching my 10K miles. I had an oil change and service at 5K but was told by the dealership that I need another one at 10K even though Audi says to get the next one at 15K. What have you guys been doing? Are you getting an oil change every 5K miles or are you doing it using the Audi recommended intervals?
Thanks

I haven't hit 10K yet, but I intend to change my oil at 5K intervals to split the difference in Audi's intervals. I can do my own oil changes, so adding an extra is no big deal.

For my family, we only use Mobil 1 fully synthetic Extended which is good for 15k. However, for new cars, we change oil every 5k until the car hit the first 15k. Then every 10k after that.

Hey Hobbes, how easy/diff is it to do the oil changes on the S5s? I still haven't gotten more than 520 miles on mine yet because of the all the paint issues that have needed to be address over the last 3 months, but I want to change the oil myself after the free one.

they are very easy, the oil filter is a cartridge style under the plastic cover at the back of the intake manifold...other than that just drop the belly pan and drain the oil out of the pan...the only tools you need are a 32mm socket, phillips head screwdriver and a 6mm allen socket plus the ratchets...

Enter "A5 oil change" in the search category and you'll see a very detailed DIY originally posted by Hobbes last August I believe.
