I loved volcano red so much I had it as a custom color on my 2013 A5 cab. Here are some pics. Misano Red is nice and all but it's just too boring. It doesn't have that nice contrast with the black top that volcano red has. And of course the car gets a lot of attention everywhere I go.
Have to agree on your choice. That color does get make a statement. Really looks great in bright sunlight. Would have had that myself...if I didn't like black so much. But, being that I have had nothing but black cars since 1974...chances are I'm not going to change anytime soon.

I'm not a fan of Red for a car like a unique Audi S5 or RS5 but this comparo attached shows the difference pretty well.

Peter: I was not a fan of red on German cars either until I saw the brilliant red S5 that I bought. My loves the color too.
To OP: If you are a red fetish guy AND you trade cars often, you may enjoy the Volcano Red more for its exclusivity. I like the Volcano Red but would have to see it in person to be sure.
I admit to liking orange though. Someone posted pictures of a Samoa color (orange-like) S5 about 2-3 weeks ago, and I nearly fell out of my chair with lust.

Sooo...I did see the dealer's S4 in Volcano red in a parking lot under overcast skies and it was not brand-spanking new. In other words, real life conditions and while I did like it, I could not pull the trigger on it and ordered the Misano Red. It literally would have had to bowl me over and it did not.

Lil late
But my '13 S5 is a Volcano Red/Magma Red seats, and it's a head turner...lots of folks compliment me on the type of red in that it's not the fire engine one...great car all around
