Yep. I've mentioned in the past that I usually just hit quick reply at the bottom of the thread (as many others also do). Since I read the forum in linear mode and not threaded mode it probably often results in a reply to the wrong person for those reading in threaded view.

In my 2009 A4 to turn the radio off and it will stay off next startup just push in and hold a second or two the volume button. No problem solving that one.
Turn on volume is a setting in the MMI. You can specify the exact volume level you want when the radio is turned on. Again not an issue.
Let me know if you need additional info. I did these settings to mine about 1.5 years ago so I do not remember each step but I can go back get more info if needed.

i too am experiencing the annoying problem of the volume level resetting after muting or when turning the audi system on- the default level is too soft.
how to make the default level louder? the user manual seems to indicate that you cant. i read that there is a hidden program menu for the mmi-could it be done that way?
