R8 compared to S5 in terms of daily driver?

The S5 is a great car. i have loved everything about mine since i got it. People in the city park bumper to bumper. and will be a lot more cautious parking behind or in front of an R8. and the s5 is much larger and more likely to get dinged up. both cars turn heads both cars are amazing Audi engineering marvels. ether way stick with ether the s5 r8 or a7. can't go wrong.

I don't understand how we have many posters expecting a normal car in this segment (50-70k) not showing up everywhere? If there are so many S class, E class, 7 series, 5 series etc... running down the road everyday, there are many people out there that can afford these cars. It's just the matter of how many of them would share the same taste and the will to move to a coupe. If this car was 100k+ then suddenly drop to 50k then I probably understand the argument but not this.

There are many R8s too. Three Audi dealers I go to has two R8s - coupe + cap. And I have one dealer selling foreign cars in my area selling a second hand R8 for $96K. Surprising, not of these dealers have an S5, until last week when a Black S5 surfaced. Then I told them to trade it for a Monsoon Gray, which is what I have now. I guess it depends on your area. There's more R8s in my area than S5s.

I think the fact that it's a 2-door coupe will be the limiting factor here, with many families unwilling to part with the extra doors.
Also, the reason it seems there are so many 3-series out there is because the BMW sedan and coupe look extremely similar. The A4 looks very little like the A5 and so people won't lump the two together as much. I know here in Seattle, I rarely see another a5/s5 on the road. That could change, sure, but right now the 5s are extremely rare.
But seriously, if you have the money just get a Aston Martin Vantage.
