it's about time you posted some supporting info, despite it being irrelevant to the original debate. Funny- you claimed above that "Even, if you told me the S5 got 4.5 and I never heard of an S4, I'd be like ok, but that seems way out of norm..."
Anyway---

Now here's what you said that began the "debate:"
"Based on the Torque/HP curve, this is exactly what should happen, the theory matches the evidence. At high way speed and after 60, actually after about 30 the S5 will start pulling and you'll visibly start seeing the difference at 60-70, and once you get into the Triple digits it's simply no contest V8's extra HP and longer legs, strokes, take over. But even simply using empirical data based on the engine curves, the expected result is that highway speeds the S5 should start pulling away."
If you read the links above, you will notice that, even in this test where the S5 is quicker to 60 than the s4, the S4 catches it between 80 and 90, and the S4 begins to pull away.
Don't focus on anything else- focus your argument on this- right here- because this is what i disputed in the first place. And AGAIN, for some reason, you don't want to acknowledge this information.
in a later comment, you also said "This is stupid, like I said the first time based on the torque / hp curve the S5 should pull away but all things being equal, the S4 isn't trouncing on the S5. Both of these cars have similar performance."
you did not say that the first time. you said the S5 would pull away at triple digits speeds....
I never did say the S5 couldn't do 4.5. All i did was dispute your theory that the S5 would pull away at higher speeds.
For some reason, you do not want to recognize that the S4 has the performance it does; and who cares why you bought what you bought- that was never the point of this discussion...
EDIT---
here's Road & track's info of the S4 and S5 sheets (just to be apples-apples, from a publication standpoint)--- same results: in this case the S4 is quicker to 60 (not the point), but the S4 begins to pull away at higher speeds (the point....)

IAS5, you completely missed the point, wow, motortrend got 4.5 for the S5, that's my point, it is out of the norm, you dn't here me qouting 4.5 for the S5.
My point, is if you want scour the net for the absolute fastet times you can, and say oh wow this car has to be faster, although, no one else seems to get those numbers regularly then go right ahead!
"Oh ... wait , here is motortrend of the S5 at 0-60 of 4.5 secs, quarter of 13.1 and trap speed 105.2mph, .... let's see I'm going to keep looking and see how many more I can find to support my argument. Just like you are doing." This was sarcasm from me.

I trust that S4 dude slip, and rather go by 1/4 number to see how powerful the car is; 0-60 can be affected too much by tires.

The concensus out there regardless brand/make is V8 non-aspirated versus V6 aspirated always "oh, the V8 will outrun V6 at triple digit". I think in super general terms that could be true but HP/torque has no bearing on number of cylinders.

settle what?
The debate is not the 1/4 mile. Read Acadia's 1st post that began this string of responses.
I've already shown, with two sources, that have driven both cars, that the S4 pulls away at higher speeds. that was the debate.
