I don't have an A5, but since the A4 and A5 are similar I'm trying to diagnose some problems here too.

It's been a while since people have posted on this, but I am also getting a drivers door buzz. I can push on the door, push on the trim, push on the handle, and nothing helps. Has anyone gotten this fixed?

had a rattle in driver side dash. Turned out to be a tool in the fuse panel which was not secured. Dealer secured and padded it and the noise is gone.

Ear level, could be behind the seat belt panel. I've been hearing somethig similar.

I'll see if I can push on the seat belt. I think I might have done it once already, without results.

Could it be from the sun roof? I know sound has an odd way of travelling in the car.

Worthy of note that the cable also sometimes made a loud popping noise when I hit a bump.
