Default Remove License Plate Bumper

I have an 09 S5 that came with the "Lincese Plate Bumper". Does anyone know:
1. if the standard bumper is under the license plate bumper (if they just overlap it)
2. if it is how can I remove it?

I'd prefer the standard bumper with the two chrone strips.

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The car comes with either the "license plate" OR the "standard" holder as you described (no plate holder with two chrome stripes). Often when you purchase the car you can request that the dealer replace the "license" plate version with "non-plate" version. After the fact, the dealer will probably charge you.

You can remove either US spec holder and you will find the "euro plate" holder underneath. You can remove the US holder easily - there are a few screws at the bottom of the holder - then the top "pops" off...use caution so as not to break the hold points.

Have a look at my sig picture to see the "euro version" under the US holder.

Hope this helps.

My front plate holder was attached by the two lower screws, plus an additional screw in the center of the plate holder behind the dealer's name plate. Looks like you can get the plate delete cover here as well:

I'm going to give it a shot this evening, I'll post how it goes. Thanks so much for the help.

You will need a filler panel to replace the standard license plate holder. I bought mine at MadAudi.com

Greg, it should be a quick swap. I changed mine and it took about 5 mins. Need to ensure you unscrew both screws and it should slide right out.

Do you have any bigger more detailed pics of that? I'm buying an S4 and after driving it in America I will take it back to Europe with me so am curious what's under there.

Thanks!

Still no luck, but I'm going to pull my current plate offand see if something is hiding underneath. Strange.
