Default Repost? Infiniti G35 Coupe to get AWD

With AWD, the G35 looks like it's setting its sights squarely on the A5 Quattro and 335xi coupes. And with probably 300+ hp in it, I can hear more people complaining about Audi's choice to underpower the A5.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=122416</a

Default Bleh...

It's humorous how Infiniti and BMW have touted RWD superiority and now they are rushing to get on the AWD band-wagon... I will say that the G37 does at least 'look' nice in the television advertisements...

Default iirc, the G37 has 330 HP.

So it may actually be closer to the S5 in performance than the A5, though it trailed the S5 and 335i in Motive's comparison. Nevertheless, at a $35k base price, it's a heck of a deal.

Default the only things the g37 has over their competition...

are higher power output and lower price. Nothing else about that car, IMHO, can be seen as having an advantage over the others.

Still not for me.

Default I like the smooth exterior curves of the G35/G37, but...

its interior can't hold a candle to the A5/S5's. If I ever went with a G37, I think I'd be ready to toss it after a few years. The S5 on the other hand (outside of the gas guzzler concerns), I'm ready to drive it for a decade.

Default True, a lot more power than the A5... In the end, IMO it will be the "poor man's Audi"

I just think Infiniti (and BMW) are very hypocritical...

Default IMHO, the curves of the G can't compare to the curves of the A5/S5.

The curves are exaggerated and the headlights look atrocious to me. Throw in the tinny sound of the engine/exhaust and I can't find much that appeals to me with that car.

Default

<gasp> I'm sure Infiniti owners would prefer "smart man's Audi"

Default 330HP but only 270 torque...

test drove one, feels very sluggish and labored (it was an auto though, which is all that is avail right now).
