Default RS 5 Brake squeal

Picked up my RS 5 last week for 200 mile drive home. When coming to a stop brakes squeal, and really loud! Dealer says bring up to speed, 65 or so, and apply brakes really hard. Did that. Several times. Squeal goes away until a few traffic stops and then comes back. Very off-putting. Any other suggestions? Regular brakes, not ceramic. Had this on a 2006 A-6 and cannot recall how I stopped it. I can appreciate that the RS 5 should get looks from other traffic, but not because it sqeaks!

Almost 13k miles on mine now and no squeaks. Thanks goodness!

Had an A6 before that did, and an S6 that didn't. So who knows...

Best of luck! I know it can be annoying.

MY S4 breaks squeal when it's cold out and there are many others in the S4/Q5 forums that are having the same issue. I believe the dealer has no fix per say but if you search break squeal in the forum you will see it's very common unfortunately. My wife's
Q5 does not sqeak so it almost seems to be luck of the draw.

Have an S4 that has (hopefully had) brake squealing, the dealer gave me a very nicely designed pamphlet from Audi of America explaining how "Brake noise is normal on S and RS performance cars". I didn't buy it, so I pushed pretty hard with my dealer and they ended up taking the brakes apart, grinding them down, and applying grease on all parts. So far so good, not saying its the same issue but mine started at about 500 miles and would go away when I braked HARD but on softer or normal braking they would squeal.

Brakes need to be bedded in.

My brakes squeal when it decelerates from 20 km/h and lower... about 15% of the time.

It is not that loud, and it only happens during deceleration from 20 km/h down, and only 15% of the time.

BUT... my Q5 does that 60% of the time, but my A6 does that 15% of the time.

You may have to go to the dealer and have them take a look, though they will tell you that it is "normal".

If they do, tell them to do a manual inspection anyway...

That is what I tried the other day...but will keep at it. As said, the squeal starts just when the car is about stopped. My S5 did not have this issue.

I have the same issue and it likely won't ever go away, especially in cold, damp temperatures. Audi says that this is normal, which to me indicates that this is a common problem with no easy fix hence the denial of culpability.
