Default RS5 MSRP

Hello. Just new to this forum and really to any forum. I saw a beautiful RS5 Suduko with MMI Nav, Driver assist, sports exhaust and 20" wheels but without ceramic brakes or titanium package. NADA.com says around 73, but dealer has it at 79,000 or so and is very reluctant to negotiate at all. What has been all of your experiences with negotiation below from MSRP?

I have the Audi of America model 2013 invoice guide that gives invoice vs retail prices. RS5 Trim Package invoice is $64,078 and retail is $68,900. They also have invoice and retail for paint and options as well. I'd have to know the specific options to give you those.

It is not uncommon for the dealer to sell at MSRP or above. Even used ones are being listed at the original MSRP.

Forget it. Dealers don't negotiate on RS5s, since they probably have 1 or 2 allocations. Some will even give you a premium price to pay for what they have on their showroom, because if you order - you might wait 10 months and it may never come if they have zero allocation.

In my local dealership, other customers were willing to pay a few thousand above MRSP...

Yet, they could not get one anyway... because the allocation for the RS5 was all purchased or "paid deposit" purchased.

I was lucky that I got an allocation in April 2012 (and got car on October).

So, you won't get any price breaks.

But, you can always ask... does not hurt to ask.

You may get 1000 or 1500 below MSRP. Best way to see what is the MSRP is go to audi.com and configure with the options you want. Email a few dealers around your area and some may come back with a price.

You may be surprised, there could be a car that you like that someone cancelled, but is on the way. Otherwise be ready to wait 4-5 months.

I ordered my RS5 in December of last year. I can tell you I did not pay a premium or even MSRP. Yet, to be honest I did just purchase a Audi S4 for my wife I am sure that help with the deal.

I think... it depends on your location and State/Province.

In a low demand area, of course, you can haggle.

In a high demand/high population area, it is tough as proven by my own experience.

If I remember correctly, I did not even get the Audi loyalty discount!

I was just excited to get an allocation.

Thanks for all the advice. I was able to get them down about 2500. I love the car - traded in an M3 convertible for good to great value according to KBB.
